Oro Verde (ASX:OVL) has received all the permits to get the diamond rig spinning at the Topacio Gold Project in Nicaragua.
The project already hosts a high-grade historical NI 43-101 resource of 2.7 million tonnes at 3.9g/t gold for 340,345 ounces.
Drilling is part of the second year of the farm-in agreement with a subsidiary of Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM).
Newcrest will fund the initial 1,650 metre program of seven diamond drill holes.
This ensures Oro Verde will have strong newsflow over the next couple of months.
